HyperSpace

Today I got my first hands-on experience with Hyperspace (no it's not a Star Trek thing).

"HyperSpace lets you access the Web without having to wait for Windows to boot up. Power your computer and instantly surf the Internet, check e-mail or watch the YouTube video of the day. And when you want to switch off, just close the lid and off you go. But HyperSpace is much more than just instant-on."

I currently am running it on an aging Dell Latitude D610 and am able to connect to public Wi-Fi. The operating system definitely loads faster than a variety of other Lite Linux distros that I have tested in the past. This may be worth testing further... more later.

Geomate Jr

This new product caught my eye this evening by surprise. Looks like Groundspeak is offering an entry level GPS preloaded with 250,000 geocaches targeted (no pun intended) for kids. I would drive me crazy not to be able to update it with new caches, but this might be just what some families need to get started.
